I said yes
6:56 AMYou might remember I mentioned in a previous post that Jason didn't want to officially propose until I was divorced. Every time we walked past a jewelry store Jason would take me in. He loves making me try on real expensive jewelry. I of course never complain. We tried on engagement rings and he found what I liked. He told me he was going to get a quote on what it would cost to get the one I liked ordered custom. I told him I was to practical to ask for a new ring when his moms ring already gave me was perfect. Especially with a baby on the way.
One afternoon sitting at his moms house with his sister. We were on the couch picking baby shower invitations. Jason comes in and gets on one knee and asks me if I will marry him. I'm completely shocked, we had everything planned and this was not part of what we discussed.
Jason went on to tell me (as he was on his knees) that his plan was to have our families all help plan a secret wedding out at his dad's farm for after my divorce went through. I was very sick with my pregnancy and he didn't want to add more stress to me by planning a wedding. He would propose and tell me a dress was inside and then we would get married right there with our families present. But once he bought the ring he realized he had to tell me. He did not want to lie to me for several months about where his money was going. So instead as soon as he got home from picking up the ring, he got on his knees. He knew my struggles with trusting anyone financially, and he did not want to start off our relationship with a little white lie about money.
